Tom Brady, Michael Vick picked beginning quarterbacks for Pro Bowl: Tom Brady and Michael Vick were chosen as the initial quarterbacks for the National Football League’s (NFL) Pro Bowl happening on Tuesday. The selection for the players taking part in the NFL’s All-Star game is based on fan votes and votes coming from players and coaches.
Michael Vick, who is a three-time Pro Bowler, was chosen based on his supremacy in helping the Philadelphia Eagles, after his return in the league this season that caused series of controversies. Vick, a previous number one draft pick and once the highest-paid player in the league, was put behind bars for 19 months after he got involved in an illegal dog-fighting game.
Meanwhile, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots led his team this season by registering an impressive 13-2 record. Subsequently, this is the sixth time Brady will appear in the Pro Bowl. Likewise, the Patriots have the majority number of players in the AFC group that includes Vince Wilfork and Logan Mankins.
Moreover, the Atlanta Falcons claimed the conference-high by having seven participants in the NFC group. For the first time, Falcons’ Matt Ryan will also take part in the Pro Bowl. However, defending champion of the Super Bowl New Orleans has only three chosen players, which includes quarterback Drew Brees.
On the other hand, Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans had no luck this year, as he failed to spot in the Pro Bowl. This season, he registered 1,325 rushing yards in its first 16 weeks. Also, quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers did not make it to the Pro Bowl lineup. Furthermore, four NFL teams failed to have representatives for the coveted Pro Bowl next year. The most-anticipated NFL’s All-Star game, which will happen on January 30, will take place on the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
