"Tom Terrific" did a pretty fair impersonation of "Joe Cool" during the 2000s. In the 1980s, Joe Montana served as inspiration for an ankle-biter growing up a San Francisco 49ers fan in northern California.

As a 4-year-old, Tom Brady was in the stands with his father at Candlestick Park in 1982 when Montana lofted a game-winning touchdown pass to a leaping Dwight Clark with 51 seconds remaining to beat the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC title.

Workers have poured the foundation and begun erecting the steel frame for Mr. and Mrs. B’s La-La lovenest. As we have told you oh so often, the jet-setting newlyweds plunked down a whopping $11 million for the pricey 3-acre plot of land with ocean and mountain views.

One of their neighbors is California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, but the more important draw for the Bradys is Tom’s 2-year-old son, Jack, who lives nearby with his mom, Bridget Moynahan.

BTW, the BradyBundch’s nicey-pricey $10 million penthouse in the Back Bay, which went on the market a couple of months back, has yet to find a buyer. So it’s probably a good thing that the missus has gone back to work, what with the multiple mortgages and all.

Gi has dropped whatever baby weight she gained gestating six-week-old son Benjamin and was back in front of the cameras earlier this week, bringing home the bacon.

Two teams are going to the Super Bowl, and Tom Brady [stats] doesn’t play quarterback for either of them.

That fact clearly doesn’t sit well with the Patriots [team stats] quarterback.With a little time to sit back and reflect, and also to watch the games the past few weeks.

Yeah, yeah, we know the "official" reason why New England Patriots quarterback.

Tom Brady is bowing out of this year's Pro Bowl injuries. However, we have conjured up our own reason why the suave QB has decided to skip the NFL all-star game: Daddy Duty!

According to the Boston Herald, Brady's declining to play because he is still recuperating from injuries that dogged him this past season, including a fractured ring finger, a midseason rib injury and persistent shoulder problems. We're sure all that is true.

Patriots QB Tom Brady and Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald withdrew from the Jan. 31 Pro Bowl with injuries. And Texans QB Matt Schaub and Giants WR Steve Smith are the beneficiaries.

Schaub led the league in passing yards (4,770) for the 9-7 Texans. It is his first career Pro Bowl invitation.

Smith will be the first Giants receiver since 1968 to appear in a Pro Bowl. He led the NFC with 107 catches in 2009.

Battered and bruised all season, Patriots [team stats] quarterback Tom Brady [stats] has pulled out of the Pro Bowl with an injury.

He had struggled with his health in 2009, from his ring finger to his shoulder to his ribs. Brady made his fifth Pro Bowl after throwing for 4,398 yards with 28 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, despite being a regular on the injury report.

The Pro Bowl does not say which injury held a player out. Brady’s move, one that was expected, was released late last night with updated  for the Jan. 31 game in Miami.

He was replaced by Houston’s Matt Schaub, who led the league in passing. Even with receivers Wes Welker and Randy Moss also out with injuries, the Pats still will be represented by guard Logan Mankins [stats], safety Brandon Meriweather and nose tackle Vince Wilfork [stats].

While the hated Jets advanced to the AFC finals and Peyton Manning made short work of the Ravens team that humiliated the Patriots [team stats], QB/QT Tom Brady [stats] spent Sunday on the bench - a park bench - with No. 1 son, Jack.

A spywitness ran into No. 12 and his 2-year-old on the Esplanade and, well, let’s let him describe the scene:

“I was out for a run a few miles from home, down near the Back Bay on the Boston side of the river,” said our snitch.
